Fattoria della Aiola is a historic Tuscan winery situated in the heart of the original Chianti Classico wine zone near the village of Vagliagli, 10 km away from Siena. The estate vineyards cover more than 36 ha, split into different plots. Each vineyard has a unique terroir — a combination of soil, rootstocks, elevation, and exposure, resulting in wines of outstanding complexity.
Over 650 years ago the Aiola was a strategically important fortress was owned by a noble Bellanti family. Losing its military importance in the XVII century, Aiola remained an important agricultural estate. In 1947 Giovanni Malagodi, a politician and a member of the Italian Senate made AIOLA CHIANTI CLASSICO famous. The founder of Fattoria della Aiola winery, Malagodi experimented with international grapes, creating an amazing SuperTuscan “Rosso del Senatore”.
Today Fattoria della Aiola produces 13 different wines, including 4 types of Chianti Classico, and welcomes wine lovers from all over the world.
