C’è un luogo, nei Colli Orientali del Friuli, dove il cuore incontra la terra e dove i valori di una famiglia trovano
la loro espressione più sincera nella produzione di grandi vini. È IL RONCAL. Una piccola tenuta di 20 ettari a
Cividale del Friuli, città patrimonio dell’UNESCO. Qui Martina Moreale continua il progetto avviato nel 1986 dal
marito Roberto, fondatore dell‘azienda.
Rispetto per la terra e l’ambiente, salvaguardia della tradizione, rinnovamento delle tecniche agricole: tutto ciò
rende possibile la produzione di vini di alta qualità.
Il nome dell‘azienda, IL RONCAL, in friulano significa “podere, posto in collina coltivato a terrazze”, e infatti
sono proprio i ronchi a dominare questo suggestivo paesaggio. I ronchi dei vigneti che circondano il Colle
Montebello, sede dell’azienda, sono favoriti da un‘ottima esposizione e da un terreno arenarico-marnoso, ideale
per la coltivazione della vite.
A IL RONCAL tutte le fasi della produzione dei vini sono eseguite con cura e con calma, rispettando i ritmi
naturali; si vendemmia tardivamente, al fine di raccogliere l‘uva nella sua più generosa maturità. La vinificazione
avviene nelle cantine dell’azienda secondo metodi tradizionali e a temperatura controllata. L’azienda dispone di
un locale interrato per la maturazione e l‘affinamento dei vini in legno e di un locale ventilato per l‘appassimento
delle uve. Ancora una volta un binomio perfetto tra tradizione e modernità.
Sul colle di Montebello, la cantina recentemente ristrutturata e ampliata ospita uno spazio dedicato alla vendita
dei vini aziendali. Una delle due torri dell’edificio è riservata a momenti di degustazione con una suggestiva
veduta sui vigneti circostanti.

Es gibt einen Ort, in Colli Orientali del Friuli (östliche Hügel Friauls), wo das Herz der Erde begegnet, und wo
die Werte einer Familie ihren Ausdruck in der Produktion großartiger Weine finden.
IL RONCAL ist ein kleines Anwesen von 20 Hektar in Cividale del Friuli, „Weltkulturerbe“ der UNESCO, wo
Martina Moreale das Projekt, das 1986 von ihrem Ehemann Roberto gegründet wurde, weiterführt. Die tägliche
und sorgfältige Pflege dieser Erde bringt die besten Früchte, die gelesen werden, um hochwertige Weine
herzustellen. Einfach exzellente Produkte.
Die beeindruckende Landschaft der Colli Orientali del Friuli und ihre vielen malerischen Weinberge lassen
kaum einen Durchreisenden unberührt.
Die überwiegende Homogenität der Bodenzusammensetzungen, die geografische Ausrichtung der Weinberge
und der Klimaeinfluss bringen doch zugleich eine sehr große Vielfalt an Weinen hervor.
Die Pflege und die Hingabe der frischen und duftendenden Weißweine, sowie der fülligen und durchdringenden
Rotweine, haben dazu beigetragen, dass sie auf der ganzen Welt berühmt sind.
Der Name IL RONCAL stammt aus der friulanischen Sprache und bedeutet „Gut, das auf terrassenförmigen
Hügeln angelegt ist“. In der Tat sind es auch die topografischen Abstufungen, die diese stimmungsvolle
Landschaft dominieren.
Die ausgezeichnete Lage und die besondere Zusammensetzung der Sand-Lehmböden bilden mit dem
ausgewogenen Klima ideale Voraussetzungen für den Weinanbau.
Damit die Trauben zu ihrer vollen Reife kommen können, findet im Weingut IL RONCAL die Lese erst spät im
Herbst statt. Die Weinherstellung erfolgt nach traditioneller Methode, wobei die Temperatur im Weinkeller
des Gutes ständig kontrolliert wird. Das Anwesen hat einen Kellerraum für die Reifung der Weine in Holz, wo
regelmäßig Kontrollen der Temperatur und der Luftfeuchte durchgeführt werden, sowie auch ein belüfteter
Raum für die Austrocknung der Weintrauben.

There is a place in the eastern hills of Friuli where the heart meets the land and where the values of a family
find their most sincere expression in producing great wines.
IL RONCAL is a small estate of 20 hectares, terraced on the Montebello Hill, in the heart of the Colli Orientali
del Friuli, only 3 km away from the historical center of Cividale del Friuli (UNESCO site). Here Martina Moreale
carries on the project of her husband Roberto, founder of the winery. Day after day, the diligent care of this land
offers its best fruits, harvested to create high-quality wines. Simply the excellence.
The estate of IL RONCAL is surrounded by an impressing landscape and by numerous vineyards, grown in
a homogenous soil composition and with ideal climatic conditions. It is possible to find different varieties of
wine, each presenting its own peculiarities and unique characteristics. Each distinctive feature results from the
dedicated passion of our wine growers and from their technical expertise, which throughout the years has lead
to perfection.
In Friulian (local language), the name “Roncal” means terraced estate on a hill; as a matter of fact, the “ronchi”
are the hillsides dominating this striking landscape. The slopes of our vineyards, surrounding the Montebello
Hill, are favored by an excellent sun exposure; Additionally, the marl-sandstone soil is ideal for the grape
cultivation. IL RONCAL harvest is intentionally postponed in order for the grapes to reach their full ripeness.
The wine production continues then within the cellar, where traditional wine methods are followed. Tradition
and modernity continue to coexist; for this reason, the sweet-smelling oak barrels, where the wines mature and
the fragrances become full-blown, stand near the shiny cold steel basins.
