Description
This is a vibrant ruby-red wine with garnet red reflections. Its long ageing process lends this wine an unmistakable bouquet, with traces of vanilla, tobacco and red berry fruits.
It is produced in a hilly area at the foot of the Lombard Prealps, particularly protected from the cold northern winds, where a favorable microclimate develops.
The grapes grow at an altitude between 400 and 600 meters above sea level in historical vineyards ranging from thirty to forty years old, with a yield of about 80-90 quintals of grapes per hectare. A late grape harvest is carried out strictly by hand, with a selection aimed at the best bunches.
The soil, made up of “marl” and characterized by its light color, is very similar to that found in the production area of the great Piedmontese wines. Thanks to its solar exposure to the south-east, the soil lends particular and unique characteristics to the grapes.
