Description
On a special plot in Tubilla del Lago called “El holgazán” (The layabout), at 850 metre altitude is a plantation of 25 year old vines on clayey stony soils.
The grapes are manual harvested into boxes.
Intensely aromatic with aromas of red and black fruit, liquorice hints typical of the tempranillo variety, integrated with notes of vanilla and toffee caramel.
Medium bodied with sweet tannins. Long and persistent with an agreeable finish of black fruit.
A typical offering from the Ribera del Duero, with a unique personality.
This wine consists of 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) grapes. It has had 8 days of maceration and aged for 7 months in French oak barrels.
The best temperature to serve the wine is 15 – 17ºC.
El Holgazán can accompany poultry as well as rice dishes with red meat, pork and is perfect for tapas.
