Description
Freisa is a close relative of Nebbiolo but has much more evident tannins, making it a wine with excellent potential far long ageing, achieving great smoothness while maintaining both body and bouquet. The vineyards of freisa grape are the oldest in the estate (aruond 75 years old) . In 2016 our Freisa has been inserted in the 100 TOP WINES in Italy by the journalist Paolo Massobrio
VINIFICATION: maceration on the skins for 20 days then the must is drained naturally without pressing and transferred in temperature controlled steel tank for the malolactic fermentation then the wine ages for 24 months in 700 litres tonneaux of french oak and other 12 months in the bottle
COLOR : garnet red tending to become orangey with age
PERFUME: intense and fragrant with scents of rose and raspberry
SUGGESTED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °c
PAIRINGS: well structured dishes such as BAGNA CAUDA,PIEDMONTESE MIXED FRIED,roasted meats , mature and very mature cheese
