LANGHE DOC ROSSO INSIEME 2016
Description
Barbera and Nebbiolo
Castiglione Falletto, at 300-350 m a.s.l.
Harvest: hand-picked with precise grape selection into small baskets from beginning to mid-October.
Vinification: light crushing with further check and selection of the grapes, fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperature with frequent pump over and délestages.
Ageing: 30 months in traditional oak barrels and then in the bottles in controlled temperature wine cellar.
Deep ruby colour tending toward garnet. Intense and fruity tasting notes with red fruit, small berries, blackberry, toasted hazelnut and vanilla scents. The assembly of Barbera and Nebbiolo for Barolo, vines traditionally suitable for aging, makes it full and elegant, austere, soft and full bodied. Rich palate with long finish, intense with well-balanced tannins.
Excellent with red meat, roasts, grilled meats and wild game.
Serving: in large glasses at 17-18°C (62–64° F)
Ready to drink but can be cellared for 8-10 years.
