Description

The Goldfinch is our Chianti Classico Riserva gained only in special vintages from Sangiovese grapes and a small quantity of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Grapes are harvested in our company cru “Vigna i Greppi” – one of the highest vineyards in the Chianti Classico area – located in Montegrossi at an altitude of 670 metres above sea level in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel, then the wine ages for two years in oak barrels. After this time, the wine is aged for at least another year in bottles. Deep ruby red, limpid and compact colour. This Chianti Classico Riserva is characterized by an intense perfume of ripe blackberries accompanied by sweet spices, tobacco and leather, with a balsamic finish. Elegant in the mouth, with its fruity and smooth warmth, enveloping tannins, fresh and sapid finish – typical of longer-lived wines. A precious wine to be opened on special occasions or to be paired with red meat dishes.
