Casa Lucciola MACERATO Verdicchio di Matelica DOC
Description
From Verdicchio grapes destemmed and left macerating on the skins for the entire duration of the spontaneous fermentation, in concrete tanks, with no temperature control. After a long maturation in concrete, a few bottles of a rediscovered wine are returned.
An orange wine with a marked complexity of aromas including ripe citrus fruits, dried fruit and a spicy note (saffron). A complex palate like the nose and with a finish of medium persistence. The good general balance between aromas, body and acidity and the typicality of the aromatic notes of this type of wine undoubtedly characterize it as a "good" wine.
Appearance: golden yellow
Nose: The wine has a beautiful complexity of aromas which includes orange marmalade, apricot, dried fruit and a spicy note of saffron.
Taste: Ripe aromas of grapefruit and orange peel stand out on the palate and a balsamic note in the finish.
Pairings: medium-aged cheeses, cold cuts, or white poultry meat, spiced risotto and some types of Asian cuisine.
