GRANARIJS Rosso Piceno DOC
Description
My name, Granarijs, comes from the antique toponym of the city of Montegranaro, Mons Granarijs, known for the granaries built here by the ancient Romans.
My grapes are 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese.
I am a wine of great elegance and character, and I require a careful selection in the vineyard: only the best grapes are hand-picked, no more than 2 or 3 per plant, at their perfect ripeness.
My color is a vivid, brilliant red with garnet tints; my perfumes -red fruits, pepper, chocolate- are refined, intense and clean. The taste is full-bodied, smooth and balanced with a long finish.
My winemaking process: fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26-28° C with pumping-over technique, post-fermentative maceration for further 4-5 days. Maturation in French Barriques for 14 months. Aging in bottle for 6-8 months.
I perfectly match with: roast, wild game meat and red meat.
AGING POTENTIAL: 15-20 years.
