In Irpinia, dialectally, red wine is not called red but black (nero). So speaking of wines we have whites and blacks. In Montemarano dialect when you want to emphasize a word repeat it twice, and the second word is truncated and the accent is added. This is the origin of the name of our Taurasi which is a very black coloured wine and therefore wanting to emphasize it in dialect it becomes: "Nero Né". Nero Né is an old gentleman with a hat and cloak who walks with his cadenced pace. He doesn't like being in the spotlight, but he looks at his audience from behind the scenes. You will never see him run, he will never come to you except when he will decide, even if sometimes this can mean waiting for years!
