Description

"Rozzano" Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC, whose name is the child of my surname: that of my family who, by marrying viticulture, gave life to Cantina Villa Pigna.

A blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese, mix of tradition and enheritated passion, tells the story of our vineyards which stretch as far as the eye can see over the Piceno hills.

Focused aromas of kirsch, dark cocoa, violet, iris and crumpled herbs make for an elegant nose. On the palate is crunchy and fresh, showing layers of red and black fruits and a backbone of acidity and savoury silky tannins.  The acidity really amplifies the fruit and lifts on the palate. 

After 36 months aging between oak and bottle the wine displays plenty of tertiary notes, like liquorice and cocoa. It is an elegant wine that will charm you at every sip. Long lasting with an evolving finish. You can store it and enjoy for the next 10-15 years :)

This wine matches perfectly a tasty roast or if you prefer a light choice some mature cheeses and salami
