Genium celler was born in Poboleda (Priory) in 2002 when six families, from a long tradition in the cultivation of vineyards, come together to produce quality wines with grapes from their own estates, under the supervision of the winemaker Roser Amorós. 
The winery is located in the lower part of a house on Nou de Poboleda street, one of the “Cases dels Frares”, the first settlement of the "cartoixants" monks of Scala Dei that forms the historical territory of Priorat.

In October 2017, Genium Celler received an international recognition from Wine & Spirit : "Top 100 Winery Award”. Genium Celler was declared one of the best 100 wineries in the world.
