Description
Txakolina is a traditional wine from the Basque region of Spain, which over the last two decades has become a top-quality wine.
Colour: pale orange with pinky hues. Clean and bright in the glass, with tiny bubbles characteristic of Getariako Txakolina.
Nose: red fruit, cranberry, cherry, and wild strawberry.
Palate: silky and appetizing, with a medium aftertaste brought through by the light sparkle and balanced acidity.
Gaintza Roses is made using local variety grapes only. These varieties are Hondarrabi Beltz and Hondarrabi Zuri, which are carefully selected and used in a 50% proportion. "Beltz" means black in the Basque language and Hondarrabi Beltz is, therefore, our local red grape variety. "Zuri" means white, Hondarrabi Zuri being our green grape variety.
We recommend serving our txakolina at 8-10ºC.
It is a good companion to bluefish, and paella dishes, and is also a wine that can be drunk with pleasure alone.
