Fattoria della Aiola Chianti Classico
Description
This is an exemplary Chianti Classico made with 90% Sangiovese, 5% of the local Colorino grape and 5% of Merlot, all grown at the estate.
The grapes are harvested by hand in the beginning of October. After 15 - 17 days of maceration at28°C in stainless steel tanks with frequent pump overs, malolactic fermentation and stabilization, the wine ages for 6 months in stainless steel tanks, 6 months in large old oak barrels and up to 6 months in bottles.
Colour - an intense ruby red. Nose: fresh and vibrant aromas of cherry, strawberries and red plums, with notes of cinnamon and oranges. The palate is well balanced, with fine tannins and a long and harmonious aftertaste.
Ideal for pairing with pizza or pasta, as well as a variety of Mediterranean or Asian dishes.
