Description
Alc: 13,5 %
Residual sugar: 2
Acidity: 7,5
Vintage: In 2019, we experienced another long drought in the summer. The spring was humid and slightly compensated for the deficit of the vines, but June brought widespread sunburn due to its extreme sunlight, especially to the Rieslings.
Vines: 100 % Riesling, 30 year old vines.
Region Nierstein Orbel, red sand stone, 35% south slope.
Virticulture: after early hand-picking, a light mash and subsequent mash life of 24 hours, spontaneous fermentation and full yeast storage in stainless steel until August.
Description: The 2019 Orbel has an incredible radiance and brings excitement. Red fruitiness of wild strawberries, tender scent of basil and expressive extracts make the taste long lasting. In the finish a salty juiciness.
Menu suggestion: Zander fillet with a splash of lemon.
Drink maturity: After bottling in August 2020, these wines from our red slope need a bottle maturity of 12 months to open up. Development potential until 2032
