Description
Vintage: 2018 was a hot dry year, with quite alot of sunshine and hardly any rainfall.
Vines: 100 % Spätburgunder, 28 year old vines
Region: Loess
Vinification: Early hand-picking at the beginning of September, but only the third and second grapes were chosen for more freshness and acidity. We later harvested the first grapes for our Reserve. 14 days long mash fermentation, 12 months ageing in the Barriques including 25% new Barriques but mainly old Barrique barrels
Description: Blackberry fruit, juice on the palate and ripe soft tannins with delicate enamel and lots of power.
Suggestion: Suits well to delicate lightly fried meat.
Drinking maturity: From February 2020 through to winter 2026
